The Mahogany Tree by William Makepeace Thackeray was offered by Poets.org's
Poem-A-Day on December 23, 2012. According to the editor's notes, the poet is best known as a novelist--the author of
Vanity Fair. His poem is Dickensian--like something Old Mr. Fezziwig would sing, or possibly a wassailing song--perfect for the Christmas season.
