I am starting to think, and possibly speak, in haiku now as I have become more and more fascinated with this simple yet profound form of poetry. I had originally sat down to compose poetry ala the Imagist school, having been inspired by H. D.'s
The Pool (offered by Poets.org's
Poem-A-Day and reviewed in
Songs of Eretz on January 13, 2013). However, I noticed that my initial effort had seventeen syllables and was about Mars. Nine more Martian haiku followed. Ideally, I'd like to market them as a set, but that may be difficult...
