Manic is the Dark Night by Michael Lee Johnson appeared in issue #21 (December 1, 2012) of the quarterly ezine NewMyths.com. Here, psychosis is a dark forest into which the manic depressive perhaps willingly, perhaps unwillingly, retreats. The imagery is dark, the lines are twisted, and a collision of worlds-- of the sane and the phantasmagoric--is created. But who is to say that one world is better than the other?
