Sometimes with One I Love by Walt Whitman (b. 1891) was offered by Poets.org's
Poem-A-Day on St. Valentine's Day 2013. Taken from one of my favorite collections of poetry,
Leaves of Grass, Mr. Whitman wisely penned that feelings of love, even if not returned, may still produce beautiful songs. How true, particularly for many lonely lovers on this day (but fortunately not for me any more).
