New Poem: Ghazal: In the Tower
My latest ghazal is after the traditional Urdu style with 12 syllables in each line of its 12 couplets. The radif is "in the tower," and the qafia is "-aye." I used "stevia" (as in the plant) in the final couplet. My ghazal lightly mocks the traditional "maiden imprisoned in a tower" fairy tales. The final couplet offers a moral lesson of sorts. I'm calling it a success.
