My latest ghazal is after the traditional Urdu style with 12 syllables in each line of its 12 couplets. The
radif is "in the tower," and the
qafia is "-aye." I used "stevia" (as in the plant) in the final couplet. My ghazal lightly mocks the traditional "maiden imprisoned in a tower" fairy tales. The final couplet offers a moral lesson of sorts. I'm calling it a success.
