Destination by Ken Poyner appeared in the March 2013 issue of
Niteblade. I was a little confused by this one. It seems to be a poem about a magical creature imprisoned in a box that sits on a collector's shelf, but ends with (is it a metaphor?) hands meeting across a mirror. So, the ending threw me, but it is an otherwise powerful poem about the horror and barbarity of collecting trophies that were once beautiful living things, sung in the voice of the collected.
