"Linger" by the ubiquitous Nebula, Hugo, and World Fantasy Award winner Ken Liu appeared in Daily Science Fiction on March 12, 2013. Many of Mr. Liu's stories have appeared in DSF and have been reviewed in Songs of Eretz previously. "Aliens freeze life on earth in a moment of time."
The premise of the story is interesting and original, but there are some incongruities that approach being flaws. The writing, of course, is beautiful, waxing poetic at times as Mr. Liu is wont to do. 4 out of 7 rocket-dragons.
