On. On. Stop. Stop. by Saskia Hamilton was offered by Poets.org's
Poem-A-Day on March 1, 2013. The poet reveals in her notes that the poem was inspired in 2012 by the find of a cassette tape of her grandmother's eightieth birthday from 1988. In the poem, the voices of the past, some long dead (including an old dog) mingle with the sounds of the present (2012).
