Sappho and Phaon: Sonnet III by Mary Robinson (1757 - 1800) was offered by Poets.org's
Poem-A-Day on March 23, 2013. The poet perhaps saw herself as Sappho. I wonder whom her Phaon was if so? Her passions were certainly stirred when she penned this steamy Italian sonnet.
