Review of The Snowdrop by Anna Bunston De Bary
The Snowdrop by Anna Bunston De Bary was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on March 2, 2013. Ms. De Bary waxes poetic about snow, and having had more than our usual share here in the Kansas City area, I can see why she would. Snow is not just a white blanket. There are myriad colors, delicate pastels and brighter hues, refracted sunlight, ripples so subtle that they cannot be seen from every angle. There is also something about the pristine cleansing effect that a snow cover does to the landscape that is simply awe inspiring. Ms. De Bary evokes many of these themes in her short, rhyming poem.
