Rocket Fantastic [excerpt] by Gabrielle Calvocoressi was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on April 10, 2013. The poet reveals that she suffers from nystagmus, a condition where the eyes move rapidly in a certain direction, usually horizontal. It can be a sign of a serious neurological condition. However, for her, it inspires a kind of poetry where things blend into other things--in the case of this excerpt, a beautiful male body blends with light. I found the imagery in the poem moving.
