We never know how high we are (1176) by Emily Dickinson (1830 - 1886) (pictured) was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on April 20, 2013. In two quatrains of rhyming verse, Ms. Dickinson says, at least to me, "bad things happen when good men do nothing." True in the mid-1800s, perhaps even more true today.
