Blue Hanuman by Joan Larkin was offered by Poets.org's
Poem-A-Day on May 14, 2013. The poet reveals in her notes that her poem was inspired by a painting of Hanuman, the Indian monkey god (pictured). She further reveals that as she wrote, she turned her thoughts inward--it is these musings that really make the poem sing for me.
