Flush or Faunus by Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806 - 1861) (pictured) was offered by Poets.org's
Poem-A-Day on June 23, 2013. In a somewhat over-the-top sonnet, Mrs. Barrett Browning compares her beloved pet dog, Flush, to the god Faunus. I feel the same way about my Airedale terrier, I guess, but do not know if I could, with a straight face, write such a poem about her.
