"The Living Beauty" by W. B. Yeats (1865 -1939) was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on August 17, 2013. The editor's notes reveal that the poem was thought to have been inspired by Iseult Gonne (pictured), the daughter of his original muse, her mother Maud. The poet proposes that beauty out of sight and out of mind is perhaps not beauty at all. He also seems to lament that the beauty of youth is for the young.
