"To Electra" by Robert Herrick (1591 - 1674) was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on August 24, 2013. It is one of his many honey-dripping love poems inspired by a women referred to as "Electra." Assuming that "Electra" was inspired by the mythological figure (pictured) and was not the real name of his muse, it is an odd choice for a pseudonym--unless Herrick was into the scheming matricidal type.
