Review of "The Maldive Shark" by Herman Melville
"The Maldive Shark" by Herman Melville (1819 - 1891) was offered by Poets.org's Poem-A-Day on September 22, 2013. The editor's notes reveal that Herman Melville was inspired to write by his seafaring adventures in 1845; however, he was relatively unknown as a poet. "Shark" is a rhyming poem about the interesting relationship between pilot fish and sharks (pictured).
