"Mission Jitters" is an attempt to capture the conflicting feelings I experienced en route to a potentially dangerous military mission. There was the desire to carry out the mission, patriotism, and pride. These feelings warred with the desire to stay home, ambivalence about intervening in another country, and fear--all kinds of fear: fear of dying, fear of failure, fear of capture, fear being afraid.
