"Colonel Cawthon" is the next installment in my poetic memoir, A Wave of Poetry. The Colonel joined our relief operation about mid-way through as the nominal commander, although he was happy to allow Major Dotson to carry on as he was doing before his arrival. In this way, the Colonel proved to be a brilliant leader. Our op was running smoothly. The Colonel understood the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
