Poem of the Day: "At Wit's End" by Lauren McBride, Frequent Contributor
At Wit's End
Lauren McBride
suffer the gray -
not aging keratin
perhaps
perhaps gray matter -
befuddled brain cells
leaking out
leaking out -
their purpose
forgotten
Poet’s Notes: This poem takes a lighthearted look at two common complaints of the elderly: memory loss and gray hair. Playing on gray hair and gray matter, I suggest the two are related.
