Lauren McBride
Often
I explore this field alone;
found
a stone foundation in the grass.
Crocus,
lilac, lily - seasons pass
in
the garden someone once called home.
Poet's Notes: Sometimes all that's
left of an old homestead is the garden planted by the former owners, still
blooming in season with no one left to enjoy the flowers and trees, except by
chance.
