Sierra
July
Lighting the background sky
The great wheel spins
Suspending passengers in bliss
Speed unnoticeable
Melting into time's flow
Body and mind high off the ground

Notes: Despite
having a clown phobia, I've always been fond of carnivals--the smells of cotton
candy and popcorn, as well as the gleeful shouts coming from the rides are all
a big help. My favorite of the rides is the Ferris wheel, though I've never
ridden one. I've always liked seeing the glowing wheel from afar, spinning like
its own sort of planet.
